Negotiating is a skill you can develop. You are an athlete. It’s important to be grounded by a system that will keep you safe, arm you with confidence for any situation, and most importantly, ensure you are well prepared for every conversation.

Good negotiations do not require compromise. They don’t rely on bluffing or power and leverage. Startups aren’t vulnerable because of their balance sheet - they’re vulnerable because they’re doing something that has never been done before. There is a reason your opponent wants you at the table.
